to be renewed and when, in particular, there is paucity in today's religious instruction, is it not the time for a sound catechesis on the Blessed Virgin Mary to help enrich our spiritual life and to have a proper understanding of the role of Mary and why Catholics have such devotion to her? It may be affirmed that while the majority of our Catholic men and women know of their Mother in Heaven, few have a proper understanding of why we have special devotion to her and what consists of proper devotion to Our Lady . The majority of our Catholic youth may have little understanding of Mary's role.
